By order of the Director of the Anti-Corruption Agency of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Regulation ‘On the cost of a gift received by a civil servant during business trips, international and other official events, as well as on the procedure for disposal of the gift’ has been approved.
According to the Regulation, civil servants may receive gifts in the following cases:
Civil servants are prohibited from accepting any form of gift during other business trips in Uzbekistan.
A gift accepted by a civil servant must meet the following requirements:
A civil servant transfers a gift to the economic department within three working days after the event, about which an act is drawn up.
If the value of the gift is unknown, the economic department evaluates it. In case the gift does not exceed 4 times the size of the reference calculated value or 1.2 million soums, it is returned to the civil servant. In case of exceeding, the gift is transferred to the balance of the government body.
Civil servants are prohibited from accepting gifts from citizens or other directly interested persons for the solution of a specific case or further benefits.
The law does not allow civil servants to receive gifts from citizens.
