The Anti-Corruption Agency has studied the appeal of citizen N.O., sent to the Virtual Reception of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, in which he expressed dissatisfaction with the actions of officials of the Public Education Department of Khatirchi District, Navoi Region.

The materials collected during the study were sent to the relevant authorities for consideration.

A pre-investigation check conducted by the Navoi Territorial Unit of the Department on Combating Economic Crimes under the General Prosecutor’s Office revealed that officials of the Public Education Department of  Khatirchi District, colluding with each other, in the period from June to December 2022, made payroll of incentives and wages in the amount of 43.6 million soums, thereby embezzling budget funds.

On February 26, 2023, a criminal case was initiated on this fact against officials of the Public Education Department of Khatirchi District in accordance with Article 167, Section 2, paragraph D of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Investigations are currently underway.
