The delegation of Uzbekistan, headed by the Director of the Anti-Corruption Agency, is on a working visit to Singapore.
The delegation is composed of representatives of the Administration of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Cabinet of Ministers, the Civil Service Development Agency, the Prosecutor General’s Office, the Ministry of Justice and other responsible organizations. The visit was organized by the Anti-Corruption Agency in cooperation with the Corrupt Practices Investigation Bureau of Singapore within the framework of the Good Governance project of the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ).
The main purpose of the visit is to establish cooperation between the anti-corruption departments of the two countries, to get acquainted with Singapore’s best practices in this area, and to introduce the best solutions into national practice.
As part of the visit, meetings are planned with representatives of the Attorney-General’s Chambers, the Corrupt Practices Investigation Bureau, the PSB Academy, the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy and other organizations.
For reference: Singapore has solid experience in combating corruption and is a country that occupies a leading position in the world in relevant rankings. In particular, according to the Corruption Perceptions Index of Transparency International for 2022, Singapore ranked 5th among 180 countries.
On the first day of the visit, a meeting was organized with representatives of the Corrupt Practices Investigation Bureau and the Attorney-General’s Chambers of Singapore, during which issues were discussed regarding the formation and implementation of state policy in the field of combating corruption, the role of the Bureau and the Attorney-General’s Chambers in this track, ensuring transparency and accountability of the activities of the government agencies, as well as the system of advanced training of civil servants.
As a result of the meeting, the parties reached an agreement on strengthening cooperation and establishing a regular practice of sharing experience.
On the first day of the visit, members of the delegation also met with representatives of the Tourism Management Institute of Singapore and discussed the prospects for cooperation in training civil servants in Uzbekistan.
