The Anti-Corruption Agency leadership held September 11 a meeting with Petra Gorjup, Head of Regional Dialogue Branch Office in Uzbekistan, and Rachelle Cohen, editor of the Boston Globe.
At the meeting, the parties discussed plans for the development of further cooperation.
In particular, in order to establish permanent cooperation with the Boston Globe newspaper, it was proposed to organize training for representatives of local media in the newspaper’s editorial office, and regularly organize workshops aimed at increasing the activity of the media and NGOs in the fight against corruption with the participation of the newspaper’s leading journalists.
Rachelle Cohen expressed her readiness to create, in cooperation with the Boston Globe, dialogue groups with journalists to study the experience of the two countries, and together with the Agency to implement long-term projects aimed at improving the skills and abilities of conducting investigative journalism in combating corruption.
Following the meeting, the parties reached an agreement on implementing the plans and increasing the efficiency of mutual cooperation.
