On January 23 of this year, a regular meeting of the Public Council under the Anti-Corruption Agency was held.
The draft Work plan of the Public Council for 2021 was discussed during the meeting.
The Work plan covers such important issues as improving the legal culture of the population, creating of an intolerant attitude towards corruption in the society, preparing proposals for improving legislation in this area, conducting research, monitoring, and establishing public control over the Agency's activities.
It was highlighted that there is a need to improve the Work plan and establish clear mechanisms for the implementation of tasks, effective use of all tools and opportunities in the fight against corruption. In particular, it was suggested to use social networks and mass media to reach the public, especially young people.
It was also noted that participation in the implementation of the tasks set in the Address of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the Oliy Majlis, preparation of proposals for the draft National Anti-Corruption Strategy for 2021-2025, holding public hearings on draft laws in this area require responsibility of every member of the Public Council.
At the end of the meeting, the work plan of the Public Council was put to the vote and approved, taking into account all proposals and comments.
