On September 16, an online meeting was held between the representatives
of the Anti-Corruption Agency and the Corruption Prevention and Combating Bureau (KNAB).

of Latvia is an authorized state body for the fight against corruption and has been operating since 2003. The bureau is tasked with preventing corruption, investigating criminal cases of corruption and training on anti-corruption issues.
At the meeting, the sides discussed issues of establishing cooperation between the two agencies, exchanging experience and identifying priority areas for the future.
At the beginning of the meeting, the Deputy Director of the Agency Umida Tukhtasheva informed about the reforms being carried out in Uzbekistan in the field of combating corruption, the tasks of the Agency and the work being carried out in this area.
In turn, the Latvian side spoke about the tasks assigned to the Bureau,
the Bureau's interaction with other law enforcement agencies in the fight against corruption, improving the country's position in international rankings such as Transparency International, membership activities in the organization GRECO (Group of States Against Corruption).
An agreement has been reached with the Latvian side on presenting legislative acts of the Republic of Latvia to Uzbek colleagues in areas of mutual interest, including in such areas as declaring the income and property of civil servants, supporting the activities of non-governmental organizations, organizing
anti-corruption training in educational institutions, as well as organizing meetings with experts from the competent authorities of Latvia.
Following the meeting, organized in the form of a constructive dialogue,
the sides also discussed the issues of establishing direct contacts and permanent dialogue between the two agencies, signing a memorandum of understanding, organizing business trips to exchange experience.
