Cooperation between government bodies and civil society institutions plays an important role in the fight against corruption. Reflecting this cooperation, Anti-Corruption Councils are being set up in the regions.
On September 24 this year, the constituent assembly of the Navoi Territorial council for combating corruption was held in Navoi. The meeting was attended by the management of the Anti-Corruption Agency, deputies of the Navoi Regional Council of People's Deputies, heads of enterprises and organizations, heads of public organizations and media representatives.
The members of the Navoi Territorial Anti - Corruption Council were presented at the meeting and their rights and obligations were clarified in detail.
As noted, in accordance with the Charter of the Council, the main goal of the territorial councils is to increase the efficiency of anti-corruption processes in the regions, to coordinate the activities of local self-government bodies.
At the meeting, the members of the National Council noted the main tasks, stressing that each member of the territorial council should feel responsibility and conscientiously carry out the tasks assigned to them.
Including,
- making decisions aimed at improving the efficiency of bodies and organizations involved in the fight against corruption in the Navoi region and participating in it;
- to submit proposals to the National Council on improving legislation and law enforcement practice;
- hearing reports of heads of local self-government bodies carrying out anti-corruption activities;
- moreover a comprehensive study of the state of affairs within the fight against corruption in the regions.
At the end of the meeting, it was acclaimed that it is essential to take concrete and practical measures to ensure the fulfillment of the tasks set.
