In order to monitor and control the implementation of anti-corruption measures in Namangan region, to assess the effectiveness of existing organizational, practical and legal mechanisms in this area, the Territorial Anti-Corruption Council was established to create an uncompromising environment in the region.
The founding meeting was held on September 24 of this year. The members of the Territorial Council were introduced to the members of the National Council for Combating Corruption, deputies, heads of companies and organizations, representatives of non-governmental organizations and the media.
The head of the Anti-Corruption Agency, who took part in the event, spoke about the corruption situation in Namangan region and the main tasks and activities of the Territorial Council in their elimination.
In particular, it was noted that the scourge of corruption overshadows the ongoing reforms in the country and undermines the confidence of the people in government agencies, and in this regard the Territorial Council has a wide range of work to be done.
The main activities of the Territorial Council are the preparation of recommendations to improve anti-corruption legislation, the study of the implementation of anti-corruption strategies and state programs by local authorities, the development and implementation of anti-corruption programs on the places.
Members of the Territorial Anti-Corruption Council also spoke at the meeting and expressed their views and suggestions on the implementation of the tasks.
