On March 31, specialists from the Corruption Prevention and Combating Bureau, as well as the State Revenue Service of the Republic of Latvia, organized an online seminar for officers of the Anti-Corruption Agency of the Republic of Uzbekistan on the theme ‘Preventing conflicts of interest in the civil service, income and assets declaration.’
For reference: Latvia ranks 36th in the Transparency International ranking. The Corruption Prevention and Combating Bureau (KNAB) is a specially authorized anti-corruption body in Latvia, and the prevention of conflicts of interest in the civil service is one of the main areas in its activity.
During the virtual meeting, foreign experts spoke in detail about the main tasks and activities of the Corruption Prevention and Combating Bureau, efforts to prevent conflicts of interest, income and assets declaration of civil servants in Latvia.
The activities of the State Revenue Service, its powers and the work, as well as the experience of the agency in ensuring internal security were also carefully studied.
