The World Bank experts started their mission January 30 in Uzbekistan to implement the task ‘Strengthening the institutional capacity to combat corruption in Uzbekistan, consulting and analytical services’.
The main purpose of the mission is an institutional assessment of the Anti-Corruption Agency of the Republic of Uzbekistan, including holding technical meetings to evaluate the overall effectiveness in achieving goals, as well as collect and provide information.
The World Bank experts Daniela Felcman, Dmytro Kotlyar, Murod Khusanov and Teresa Lazzaroni will be attending the meetings, which will last until February 3.
Akmal Burkhanov, Director of the Anti-Corruption Agency, at the meeting with the World bank experts discussed the scope, tasks and schedule of the institutional assessment of the Agency, as well as shared views on results expected from the mission.
During the work of the mission in Uzbekistan, the World Bank experts will hold meetings in the Chambers of the Oliy Majlis and the Administration of the President, as well as with members of the National Anti-Corruption Council.
