Today, Transparency International NGO has released the 2022 Corruption Perceptions Index, CPI.
Among 180 countries, Uzbekistan ranked 126th scoring 31 points. It is worth noting that our country has managed to improve its place by 14 positions adding three points (140th position in 2021).
For reference: The Corruption Perception Index is an annual composite index measuring the perception of corruption in the public sector in various countries. The Corruption Perceptions Index has been calculated and published annually since 1995. The Index is compiled by Transparency International on the basis of expert and business surveys.
Based on this information, countries around the world are ranked on a scale from 0 to 100. Zero represents the highest level of perceived corruption and 100 the lowest.
Uzbekistan in the CPI is a steady improver among the countries of Eastern Europe and Central Asia, and recorded growth over the past six years (from 22 points in 2017 to 31 points in 2022).
