Article 18 of the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan ‘On the State Civil Service’ No. 788, adopted on August 8, 2022 and entered into force on November 10, provides for the procedure for the acceptance of gifts by civil servants during business trips, international and other official events, as well as disposal of them, which is regulated by a specially authorized anti-corruption government body for combating corruption.

In order to ensure the fulfillment of this task, the Anti-Corruption Agency has developed a draft Provision ‘On the cost of a gift that can be received by civil servants in connection with business trips, international and other official events, as well as the procedure of its disposal’. The document was agreed with the relevant ministries and departments, and after public discussion, finalized based on the proposals and objections received.

On January 31, the draft document was discussed with the participation of responsible officials of the Civil Service Development Agency, the Ministry of Justice and the Federation of Labor Unions.

Legal expertise of the document and state registration with the Ministry of Justice are expected in the coming days.
