On February 24, the Anti-Corruption Agency held a seminar on the essence of the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan of January 16, 2023 ‘On additional measures to further expand access to justice and increase the efficiency of courts’, and on the reforms planned for implementation in the judiciary in the near future.
The seminar was held as part of the Memorandum of Cooperation signed in 2022 between the Anti-Corruption Agency and the Supreme Judicial Council, aiming to implement mutually beneficial cooperation in the field of prevention and counteracting corruption.
Officers of the Anti-Corruption Agency and representatives of the Supreme Judicial Council attended the seminar.
The participants examined the tasks and goals defined in the Decree, also discussed the development of the Mediation Institute, the prevention of cases of disrespect for the court, strengthening responsibility measures for interfering in the activities of persons exercising justice, inviolability and responsibility of judges, etc.
A detailed presentation was also made on the Corps of Specialized Prosecutors and the Action Program to implement the Short-Term Strategy for Raising the Judiciary to Qualitatively New Level 2023 - 2026.
During the event, the Agency officers expressed their opinion on the work and problems implemented in the field of judiciary to prevent and counteract corruption.
