The Anti-Corruption Agency held a meeting April 18 with representatives of the UNDP Istanbul Regional Hub.
The main purpose of the meeting was to familiarize the guests with the reforms carried out in the system of administrative and public service in Uzbekistan, develop proposals for supporting and improving their efficiency, as well as discuss issues of close cooperation.
At the meeting, information was provided on Uzbekistan’s positions in international rankings and indices for combating corruption, the role of the use of information technologies in reforms aimed at preventing corruption, the effectiveness of the system for protecting whistleblowers, as well as the introduction of a system for declaring income and property by civil servants.
In addition, the parties discussed the role of the Agency in major administrative reforms carried out in Uzbekistan, cooperation with NGOs and the media, and also considered the prospects for cooperation with UNDP.
Following the meeting, the parties agreed to continue the implementation of joint projects, as well as technical and consulting support in the fight against corruption.
