On April 29, Director of the Anti-Corruption Agency Akmal Burkhanov met with Haruo Saburi, President of the Nagoya University of Economics, and Katsuya Ichihashi, the University Professor, who arrived as international observers for the referendum.
The meeting discussed constitutional reforms, measures taken to prepare for and hold the referendum, as well as prospects for cooperation between the Nagoya University of Economics and the Anti-Corruption Agency.
In particular, Haruo Saburi, President of the Nagoya University of Economics, rated the preparations for the referendum highly and expressed his readiness to actively participate in the events within the framework of the referendum.
In addition, issues of launching a cooperation project between the Anti-Corruption Agency, the Nagoya University of Economics and the Japan International Cooperation Agency were discussed at the meeting. They made focus on the provision of expert assistance by the University in the development of the project program, the involvement of international experts, the organization of trainings and workshops.
Following the meeting, the parties agreed on close cooperation in the field of preventing and combating corruption, as well as implementing joint projects.
