On July 4, 2023, by order of the State Institute of Arts and Culture of Uzbekistan, a public procurement in the amount of 1 billion 650 million soums was carried out for the purchase and installation of a solar photovoltaic power station.
A study conducted by the Anti-Corruption Agency revealed violations of the requirements of Articles 32 and 46 of the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan ‘On Public Procurement’, as well as other violations of the law.
In particular, the proposals of the participants in this procurement were evaluated in violation of the criteria and evaluation procedures specified in the procurement documentation.
Based on this, on July 21, 2023, a statutory notice was sent to the customer to cancel the protocol of the Procurement Commission, and the collected materials on the case were submitted to the Department on Combating Economic Crimes at the General Prosecutor’s Office.
On July 24, the State Institute of Arts and Culture of Uzbekistan cancelled the protocol of the Procurement Commission.
