It is known that in January this year, a Public Council was established under the Anti-Corruption Agency. During the past period, the Council on the basis of its statute and work plan has worked on providing proposals for regulations and programmes in the area of combating corruption, as well as on establishing public control over the Agency's activities.
Organising a series of events to improve the effectiveness of the Public Council is one of the tasks of the Anti-Corruption Agency for 2021.
To ensure the realisation of these objectives, special training sessions for representatives of the Public Council under the Agency are being organised on 21-22 April this year with the support of the nationwide movement «Yuksalish».
The first day of the seminar, held today, focused on building the knowledge and skills needed to run operations, the aims and objectives of public councils, working methods and planning their activities.
The training will continue tomorrow, and effective use of mechanisms such as public monitoring and public hearings, as well as open communication with the public and the media, are on the agenda of tomorrow`s seminar.
