During the visit, representatives of the Anti-corruption Agency met with the Chairman of the Defense, Security and Anti-Corruption Committee and several other MPs of the Milli Mejlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
During the meeting the sides discussed the role of parliament in the fight against corruption, cooperation with the executive and other issues.
Authorised Committee of the Parliament of Azerbaijan provided information on anti-corruption expertise in the adoption of draft laws and the forms of parliamentary control used in this process.
At a meeting with the leadership of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the sides exchanged views on the efficiency of justice and the conduct of new, open and transparent elections of judges, as well as modern mechanisms to combat corruption in the judicial system.
At the same time, representatives of the Azerbaijani judiciary provided information on changes and innovations in national legislation in order to prevent corruption and to introduce uniform law enforcement practices.
