A solemn event dedicated to the 30th anniversary of state independence of the Republic of Uzbekistan was held on August 30 in the conference hall of the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan. It was attended by the leadership and staff of the Anti-Corruption Agency. The solemn event began with the national anthem. Opening the meeting, Director of the Agency A. Burkhanov noted that our people are celebrating the great and glorious date in the history of New Uzbekistan - the thirtieth anniversary of independence with great joy. After all, the great work done in the past to build a new democratic state and civil society in our country, the high results achieved, undoubtedly, the invaluable contribution of our compatriots who work selflessly in various branches and spheres of life. In addition, the staff of the Agency has recently begun to study the implementation of decisions and laws on the ground in the short term. In particular, since the establishment of the Agency, more than 4,000 appeals have been received from legal entities and individuals, which have helped to resolve these appeals. The “Corruption-Free Sector” projects are being implemented in government organizations and agencies with a high risk of corruption and are yielding results. During the event, Deputy Director of the Agency U. Tukhtasheva and other staff spoke and congratulated everyone on the holiday. It was noted that over the past period, Uzbekistan has taken a worthy place in the world community and is moving forward from national revival to national progress. In particular, in recent years, consistent reforms have been carried out in the fight against corruption, more than 70 regulations have been adopted to regulate the sector, as well as to create an environment of intolerance to corruption in society. Various bureaucratic obstacles and corruption factors in the use of public services by citizens and entrepreneurs are being eliminated. It was noted that these positive changes are also recognized in international rankings and indices. In particular, in the open data rating published by the international non-profit organization Open Data Watch in December 2020, Uzbekistan ranked 44th out of 187 countries in the world with 63 points, and 1st place in Central Asia. Recognized as one of the top two countries in the world, Transparency International ranked Uzbekistan 14th out of 180 countries (153rd in 2019) in the 2020 Corruption Perceptions Index. Indeed, these days our greatest and dearest holiday in all corners of the country - the thirtieth anniversary of independence of our country "Let's live freely and prosperously in the new Uzbekistan!" is widely celebrated under the motto. The staff of the Anti-Corruption Agency is also showing its dedication to the welfare of the people. The fact that their work is properly encouraged by our state will undoubtedly improve the effectiveness of the results. At the end of the event, 16 employees of the Agency were awarded the commemorative medal "30 years of Independence of the Republic of Uzbekistan", as well as certificates of honor and letters of appreciation. |
