On September 27 of this year, the Anti-Corruption Agency hosted a meeting with a delegation led by the head of the International Monetary Fund mission to Uzbekistan Ron van Ruden.
The meeting was also attended by the Permanent Representative of the Fund in Uzbekistan K. Ross.
At the beginning of the event, the Director of the Agency A.Burkhanov spoke about the anti-corruption policy of the Republic of Uzbekistan, reforms carried out after the meeting between representatives of the Agency and the International Monetary Fund on 5 February this year. The new tasks and functions which were assigned to the Agency in the framework of the Presidential Decree "On additional measures to ensure the transparency of government agencies and organizations, as well as the effective implementation of public control" and the State Program on Combating Corruption for 2021-2022.
The representative of the international organization R. Ruden praised the achievements in a very short period of time in the implementation of anti-corruption policy. In addition, to representatives of the Fund were provided detailed answers to questions in the field of public procurement, declaration andon international relations anti-corruption.
The meeting also discussed the development of measures to prevent the risks of corruption in public procurement and the use of external debt, as well as training of the Agency's staff.
At the end of the meeting, which was organized in the form of dialogue, the two sides agreed to continue to make proposals in the field of further development of cooperation and the fight against corruption.
