The representatives of the Anti-Corruption Agency held a presentation at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Slovenia on the business and investment environment in Uzbekistan and economic reforms for the entrepreneurs of the republic.
During the presentation attending the major Slovenian companies in the field of pharmaceuticals, heavy industry, information technology, services and logistics, it was noted that Uzbekistan is accelerating the process of modernization of the economy, the transition to a market economy. In recent years, the legislation on investment policy has been improved, new opportunities for foreign investors - the creation of attractive free economic and industrial zones, the introduction of investment visas, tax incentives and other preferences.
In addition, Slovenian entrepreneurs expressed great interest in the work carried out in Uzbekistan on open and transparent privatization of state property, protection of the rights and interests of foreign investors, introduction of best practices of corporate governance, gradual implementation of compliance control in sectors of the economy.
Slovenian entrepreneurs noted that they are ready to take an active part in economic processes in Uzbekistan, in particular, to intensify dialoguafter weakened due to coronavirus restrictions, and to strengthen cooperation between entrepreneurs of the two countries, chambers of commerce. It was admitted that the radical changes in Uzbekistan in recent years are opening up great opportunities for investors.
During the meeting, the head of the delegation of the Agency Akmal Burkhanov answered in detail to the questions of Slovenian entrepreneurs and it was agreed to continue regular dialogue with them.
