This February 8, Akmal Burkhanov, Director of the Anti-Corruption Agency, together with officials from the Administration of President and the leadership of the State Customs Committee, visited the Tashkent-Tovar Foreign Economic Activity Customs Post of the Tashkent City Customs Administration to study the effectiveness of work carried out in the customs system to prevent corruption.
During the visit, attention was drawn to potential corruption risks in the implementation of customs procedures and measures to minimize them. In particular, the processes of digitalization in the field of customs clearance were studied.
In turn, measures were proposed to simplify customs clearance by reducing the human factor, a number of proposals and recommendations were put forward to reduce time and costs, as well as bureaucratic procedures related to the importation of goods into the customs territory by foreign economic activity entities. All proposals and recommendations will be included in the draft Program on making the customs system a sector free from corruption.
