This February 15, the Anti-Corruption Agency hosted an online workshop organized in accordance with a Memorandum of Understanding signed between the Anti-Corruption Agency of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Embassy of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland in Uzbekistan and the UK Government Partnerships International, GPI.
Michael Gallagher, International Adviser at Conflict, Stabilisation & Mediation Directorate, Government Partnerships International, and Matthew Ward, Government Procurement Policy Officer, the UK Ministry of Justice acted moderators of the workshop and made presentations on the public procurement. In particular, they spoke about the formation of the public procurement policy, its priorities, as well as about the main legal acts adopted in this area in the UK and a number of other pressing issues on the theme.
They informed the workshop attendees of the main strengths of the public procurement system, including international cooperation, efficient use of funds, high and at the same time flexible transparency standards, and social significance.
