On March 10, the Public Council under the Anti-Corruption Agency held a regular meeting.
Senior officials of the Anti-Corruption Agency, heads of responsible sectors and members of the Public Council attended the meeting.
Akmal Burkhanov, Director of the Agency, informed the audience about the outcomes of the Agency’s activities for 2021. He noted that the Agency carried out the work to strengthen the legal framework for combating corruption, and to identify and eliminate the causes of corruption, to implement the Sphere without Corruption Project and Region without Corruption Project, as well as the work to ensure openness of the activities of government agencies and strengthening international cooperation.
Thereupon the draft work plan of the Public Council for 2022 was discussed.
The participants of the meeting agreed that the preparation of proposals on regulatory legal acts, monitoring the publication of open information by government agencies and organizations, establishing public control over the implementation of the Sphere without Corruption Project, and other tasks included in the draft work plan would contribute to a more active involvement of Council members into this process.
Following the meeting, the participants made appropriate decisions on the issues discussed.
