The Anti-Corruption Agency key specialists met March 16 with Paul Robbins, Regional Manager of the Program Portfolio in Central Asia, UK.
The meeting was organized to familiarize the guests with the ongoing work and priority tasks of the Agency, as well as to discuss plans for further cooperation.
For reference: On October 28, 2021, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Anti-Corruption Agency, the UK Diplomatic Mission in Uzbekistan and the UK Government Partnerships International.
At the beginning of the meeting, the Agency’s specialists provided the guests with detailed information on the measures taken in Uzbekistan to combat corruption, adopted regulations, as well as on the activities and main tasks of the Agency.
During the event, the parties discussed a number of issues, in particular, sharing best practices in the field of preventing and combating corruption, cooperating to implement the systems for informing the public about corruption and state protection, establishing ties with government agencies and organizations, as well as organizing joint measures to increase the capacity of the Agency’s staff.
Following the meeting, the British side agreed to continue mutually beneficial bilateral cooperation, emphasizing the scale of work on the ground and the involvement of members of the public in these processes.
