As part of the visit to the United States, the delegation of Uzbekistan visited the Pioneer Institute, where they met with Executive Director, Jim Stergios.
The Institute is one of the major think tanks in the United States, among the priority activities of which is the fight against corruption.
It is worth noting that the results of the analysis presented by the Institute had a significant impact on changes in the Massachusetts education system in the early 1990s.
The meeting participants discussed the results of research conducted in various areas, including healthcare, employment, government effectiveness, social security and state pension reforms, finance, ensuring transparency of public administration and others.
Following the meeting, the parties agreed to establish cooperation, in particular, conduct joint research in the field of openness and transparency, support anti-corruption research by civil society institutions and think tanks.
The Executive Director of Pioneer Institute expressed a desire to take part in the 2nd Forum of Openness and Transparency, which will be held in Tashkent this year.
