During the meeting, Akmal Burkhanov, Director of the Anti-Corruption Agency of Uzbekistan, provided detailed information on the activities of the agency to control public procurement and targeted spending of budget funds.
In turn, Glenn Cunha informed about the powers of the Office of the Inspector General, in particular, about the measures taken to prevent and detect fraud, theft of state property and funds.
In particular, he spoke about digital mechanisms for monitoring the activities of government agencies, the use of budgetary funds, the system for protecting those who apply to the Inspector General and the procedure for considering appeals. The Uzbek delegation showed much interest in the developed manuals on the prevention of corruption and special training courses.
The parties agreed to cooperate in ensuring openness and transparency of public administration and rational use of budgetary funds.
A similar dialogue took place with David A. Wilson, Executive Director of the US State Ethics Commission.

The meeting discussed the main measures taken to prevent conflicts of interest in the country. The two sides shared their experience on ongoing work to control integrity in the civil service, disclosure of financial information of civil servants.
At the end of the meeting, an agreement was reached on the creation of a training platform in the field of conflict of interest in Uzbekistan with the support of the US experts.
