This April 26, the Anti-Corruption Agency hosted a meeting with representatives of the European Union Delegation to Uzbekistan Francois Bejo, Alessandro Liamine and Zofia Lutkiewicz.
The meeting discussed in detail the project ‘Strengthening of the anti-corruption environment in Uzbekistan’ in cooperation with the European Union.
According to the Agency executives, in implementing anti-corruption projects it is quite essential to get methodological, technical and expert support from national and international partners.
During the meeting, the parties exchanged views on the goals and objectives of the project.
In particular, specific proposals and comments were made on improving the anti-corruption system of Uzbekistan and the institutional capacity of anti-corruption bodies, as well as strengthening the Agency ’s capacity in the field of public relations and the media.
The EU representatives also proposed to provide technical assistance in the creation of the Virtual Academy by the Agency, and to closely cooperate in the creation of the Regional Anti-Corruption Center (hub) in Uzbekistan.
In addition, the EU representatives spoke in favor of activating interaction by providing practical assistance in new areas of cooperation.
