The Anti-Corruption Agency, in cooperation with UNDP experts, is developing a new draft of the National Anti-Corruption Strategy based on the New Uzbekistan Development Strategy.
For reference: In 2021, the Anti-Corruption Agency, together with the relevant ministries and departments, developed a draft National Anti-Corruption Strategy 2021-2025. The main areas of this project are reflected in the State Anti-Corruption Program 2021-2022, adopted by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan of July 6, 2021.
The project provides for discussions with representatives of civil society institutions and the media in order to comprehensively cover the long-term anti-corruption policy, key areas and fields, monitoring mechanisms and expectations.
On April 27, the first discussion took place with the participation of representatives of the Anti-Corruption Agency, the Supreme Court, law enforcement agencies, agencies with a high risk of corruption and experts from the UN Development Program.
The participants of the event noted that the National Strategy is a document that defines the main priorities in the field of preventing and combating corruption, unites and coordinates efforts in this track.
Thereby, the participants discussed a number of issues, including the current situation in the country in preventing and combating corruption, the main priorities for the near and medium term, future state policy tracks, and improving legislation.
The next discussion of the new project is scheduled for this April 28 with the participation of representatives of academic circles, public organizations, as well as journalists and bloggers.
