On the last day of the working visit to the United States, the delegation of Uzbekistan met with the leadership of the US Federal Judicial Center.
For reference: The Federal Judicial Center is a research and training agency for the US judiciary. The Center promotes the effective administration of justice and the independence of judges, and conducts critical and analytical research on ways to improve the administration of justice.
In 2021, a meeting was held between the executives of the Anti-Corruption Agency of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the US Federal Judicial Center, during which the parties reached an agreement on further cooperation.
As noted at the meeting, the Federal Judicial Center conducts training and research for the judiciary in a wide range of areas such as court administration, case management, budget and finance, human resources and forensic technology. The Center prepares career guidance and development programs for judges and other members of the judiciary.
According to this, the dialogue of the parties took place in the context of the American system of ethics and anti-corruption training of judges, the Center’s cooperation with other anti-corruption agencies, including the US Office of Government Ethics. Particular attention was also paid to the issue of internships and research programs for civil servants of foreign countries.
During the talks, an agreement was reached with the US Federal Judicial Center on the development and implementation of special courses and programs for the judiciary of Uzbekistan on the implementation of integrity standards in the civil service, the fight against corruption and conflicts of interest.
The issues of involving the Agency’s employees, including law enforcement officers, in research work and internships were also discussed in detail.
At the end of the meeting, the heads of organizations from both sides agreed to develop a Cooperation program 2022-2023.
In addition, members of the delegation visited the Embassy of Uzbekistan in the United States and exchanged views on the outcomes of the visit, the results achieved and promising areas of cooperation.
And with that, the working visit of Uzbekistan delegation to the United States ended.
