The Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan ‘On additional measures to further improve customs administration’ of 27 April 2022 sets a number of priorities aimed at transforming customs authorities into a system free from corruption.

In particular, the Decree approved the training schedule for customs officers on combating corruption, conflict of interest, ethics and IT technologies, in which the Anti-Corruption Agency is indicated as one of the government agencies responsible for organizing and conducting these training courses.

This May 11, the Anti-Corruption Agency specialists visited the National Canine Center to train the staff members and attendees on the effective implementation of the Presidential Decree.

They were informed in detail about the goals and objectives of this Decree, in particular, about the measures to be taken to prevent and combat corruption in the customs system.

Particular attention was paid to ongoing reforms in the field of combating corruption in the country, newly introduced mechanisms and innovations in legislation.

The training participants also focused on the issue of ensuring integrity in the public service.
