This May 11, the Regional Anti-Corruption Council of Tashkent Region held its regular meeting. It was attended by the leadership of the Anti-Corruption Agency, members of the National Anti-Corruption Council, representatives of ministries and departments, as well as members of the Regional Council.
The meeting heard an analysis of corruption crimes in the Cadastre Agency and its subordinate organizations, as well as information on the work done to prevent corruption in this system.
Despite the fact that over the past period a number of measures have been taken to further increase the transparency of the cadaster system, the share of crimes committed in this area in Tashkent Region remains high. In particular, in the first quarter of 2022, criminal cases were initiated against 15 people and sent to court. The bulk of these crimes are related to the land allocation.
The causes of these and similar violations and the issues of their elimination were discussed in detail at the meeting.
During the discussions, the activities of the Regional Anti-Corruption Council were also critically analyzed.
On a monthly basis, the Agency conducts a rating assessment of the level of corruption in regions and industries, summarizing such information as crime statistics, embezzlement of budget funds, work with public appeals and statements in social networks. Discussing this topic, the Agency’s specialists noted that most of the region’s indicators in these areas are unsatisfactory.
In particular, in February-April 2022 alone, 117 corruption crimes were committed in the region, financial violations worth 17.6 billion soums were detected in 69 control objects.
During the dialogue, special attention was paid to the effective use in the activities of the council of such tools as control and monitoring activities and the organization of hearings. The participants also exchanged views on the effective and timely implementation of tasks and programs aimed at preventing corruption.
Following the meeting, specific measures were developed to increase the responsibility of the members of the Regional Council, as well as proposals and recommendations for improving the cadastral system, and key tasks were identified.
