The Internal anti-corruption control units under government agencies and organizations actively contribute to the achievement of positive results of anti-corruption measures in state structures. One such example is the work of the Internal anti-corruption control unit under Uzkimyosanoat JSC, which recently presented the Report for the first quarter of 2022.

Over the past period, the joint-stock company together with the Anti-Corruption Agency have developed and implemented more than 10 internal regulatory documents on combating and preventing corruption.

When analyzing declarations filled in by employees of the joint-stock company and its subsidiaries in accordance with the requirements of the Conflicts of Interest Management Policy adopted in the field of combating corruption, it was found that 18 officials had a conflict of interest.

In particular, in 7 cases in Maxam-Chirchik JSC, 5 cases in Navoiazot JSC, 4 cases in Farg’onaazot JSC, one case in Dehkanabad Potash Plant JSC, it was established that close relatives work under the direct supervision of each other, in connection with which measures are currently being taken to eliminate these offenses.

As a result of 18 internal inspections to investigate violations of labor relations, 6 officials were reprimanded, 4 were fined, 8 were dismissed, 7 cases were transferred to law enforcement agencies for legal action.

In total, during the reporting period, a shortage of goods and materials in the amount of 1.6 billion soums was revealed at the enterprises of the system.

It is worth noting that as a result of the explanatory work carried out and the measures taken in the field of combating corruption, a number of corruption risks have been eliminated.

For example, a conflict of interest was prevented in the use of 0.5 hectares of land in Dehkanabad Potash Plant JSC and the conclusion of an agreement cancelled that was contrary to the requirements of the Law on Public Procurement.

In addition, theft of goods totaling 584.3 million soums at the enterprises of the joint-stock company was prevented, and measures were taken against those responsible.

As a result of ensuring the openness and transparency of public procurement in Maxam-Chirchik JSC and Uzkimyoimpeks LLC, a total of 974.0 million soums was saved.
