Executives of the Anti-Corruption Agency met June 6 with World Bank experts Daniela Felcman, Dmytro Kotlyar and Elbek Yusupov.

After the welcoming part, Akmal Burkhanov, Director of the Agency, briefed foreign experts on the changes in the fight against corruption in the country, including the measures taken to identify and assess corruption risks.
The World Bank experts, in their turn, presented information about the project ‘Strengthening Institutional Capacities in the Fight Against Corruption’.
For reference: To date, within the framework of the project, seminars have been organized on declaring income and property, assessing corruption risks, materials of previous studies in the field of declaring based on the STaR project have been presented.
As part of the mission, scheduled for June 6-9, meetings will also be held with representatives of other ministries and departments involved in the fight against corruption.
In turn, foreign experts highly appreciated the ongoing reforms in Uzbekistan and noted that mechanisms are being worked out to expand the scope of the project.

The meeting participants exchanged views on the development of recommendations on organizing the assessment of corruption risks, improving the monitoring of public procurement and studying the possibilities of timely detection of corruption risks in this area, as well as familiarizing representatives of the Agency and other ministries and departments with international experience in these areas.

At the end of the meeting, the parties agreed to continue fruitful cooperation.
