On June 10, the Committee on Issues of Information Policy and Ensuring Openness in Government Agencies of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis considered the law ‘On Amendments to the Administrative Responsibility Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan’.
This law was developed by the Anti-Corruption Agency in accordance with the tasks set out in the Roadmap, approved by Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan DP-6247 of June 16, 2021.
The law provides for the establishment of administrative responsibility for violating the legislation on openness of the activities of government agencies and organizations.
During the discussions, attention was paid to the issue of liability established by the Administrative Responsibility Code for violating the legislation on the openness of the activities of government agencies and organizations, including for violating the requirements for the disclosure of information included in the list of socially significant information to be posted as open data.
The penalties for such offenses and the procedure for their application were also discussed in detail.
Following the discussion, the Committee took an appropriate decision.
