On June 11, the Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs hosted a meeting addressing the ongoing reforms in the country to combat and prevent corruption. Akmal Burkhanov, Director of the Anti-Corruption Agency, took part in the meeting.
Speaking to the audience, the Agency Director noted that all conditions have been created in the country to combat corruption and the necessary tools have been used at that, including the updated regulatory framework in the field of combating corruption. “Work is underway to implement international standards in the legislation of Uzbekistan, and all measures are being taken to improve the country’s position in international rankings,” he said.
Akmal Burkhanov also spoke about the work carried out by the Agency to introduce a system of continuous training of the population and civil servants on the fight against corruption, and the work on establishing a Virtual Anti-Corruption Academy.
The meeting participants also turned to the role of law enforcement officers in the fight against corruption. In particular, professors of the Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs noted the need to pay special attention to improving the knowledge and skills of cadets in the framework of the Integrity Vaccine, aimed at increasing legal awareness, legal culture and strengthening the rule of law in society.
Following the event, members of the academic staff who showed great performance in their work received rewards.
