On July 1, the Anti-Corruption Agency hosted a round table discussion on the theme ‘Problems and solutions in generating statistical and analytical data on corruption’, organized jointly with the UNODC Central Asian Office, the Supreme Court, the Prosecutor General’s Office, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the State Committee on Statistics of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
The event brought together international experts, heads of internal anti-corruption control units of ministries and departments, and specialists from research institutions.
In addition to discussing agenda issues, the participants of the event also considered the analysis of indicators 16.5.1 and 16.5.2 of the UN Sustainable Development Goals, the problems of determining the baseline, generating statistical data on corruption and interdepartmental coordination of open publication.
The participants discussed in detail the issues of strengthening the role of courts and law enforcement agencies in the implementation of a comprehensive analysis of corruption offenses.
In addition, special attention was paid to the introduction of positive foreign experience in this area, especially the use of modern innovative analytical and research methods.
Following the round table discussion, proposals and recommendations were developed for further improvement of information, analytical and research activities related to corruption.
