How to cover issues and events related to corruption in social networks? What should journalists pay attention to when working with sources of information on this topic? How is the safety of journalists ensured at that?
The training on the theme ‘Improving the Skills of Journalists, Bloggers and NGO Activists to Effectively Cover Anti-Corruption Events’ allows media and NGO representatives to share ideas, experience and improve their skills on the issue.
The training, organized in all regions of the country by the Anti-Corruption Agency together with the Center for Retraining of Journalists, was also held in Tashkent on August 2-3.
During the training, renowned media trainers and officers of the Agency informed the media representatives about corruption and its types, national and international legal frameworks in the fight against corruption, as well as about the experience of countries that have achieved success in the fight against corruption.
Presentations were also made on topical issues, including the role of social partnership in the fight against corruption, the proper implementation of advocacy on the ground, effective work with legal documents, professional ethics and respect for the boundaries of individual rights.
On the example of various cases and practical exercises, the features of covering cases of corruption, the correct analysis and interpretation of facts, the objectivity and transparency of a journalistic investigation in this area were considered.
The training attendees were provided with the necessary recommendations on how to cultivate in people intolerant attitude towards corruption and how to effectively organize interaction with law enforcement agencies using media resources.
