The Anti-Corruption Agency, the Ministry of Justice, the General Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic of Uzbekistan, together with UNDP, announced the results of the Joint Contest among civil society institutions and the media in the field of preventing and combating corruption ‘Involving Civil Society Institutions in the Development and Implementation of Innovations in Preventing and Combating Corruption.’
For reference: The Joint Contest is organized within the framework of the projects ‘Preventing corruption through effective, accountable and transparent governance institutions in Uzbekistan’ and ‘Strengthening civic space and voice of women and youth to enhance the role of Anti-Corruption Agency in Uzbekistan.’
Eighteen nongovernmental nonprofit organization submitted applications in the period of from June 17 to July 10.
The Evaluation Committee chose out the best:
1. NGO Development Strategy Center (Tashkent)
Project: Cultivating in preschool children the concept of integrity
2. NGO Chehra Center for Social and Legal Support of Women and Children (Ferghana Region)
Project: Anti-Corruption Training for Primary School Students in Ferghana Region
3. Muloqot Public Association (Tashkent)
Project: Development of ‘ABC Against Corruption’ illustrated electronic manual.
4.The Syrdarya branch of Istiqbolli Avlod Republican Social-Information Center (Syrdarya Region)
Project: Strengthening anti-corruption campaigning with the participation of women (NGO leaders) and youth (NGO volunteers and active students), the formation of an intolerant attitude towards corruption among the population in Syrdarya Region.
5. NGO Ziyonur Center for Social, Legal and Environmental Support for Women and Adolescents (Ferghana Region)
Project: Corruption is the death of development.
6. NGO Center for Culture of Human Rights (Tashkent, Bukhara, Navoi regions)
Project: Public control and the role of the press in the fight against corruption.
7. NGO Tashkent Center for Women’s Entrepreneurship
Project: Strengthening the immunity of women in the fight against corruption.
8. Republican Young Scientists Council (Tashkent)
Project: Development and promotion of a scientific and theoretical methodology that strengthens the youth’s sense of engagement with the fight against corruption.
9. NGO Taraqqiyot (Bukhara)
Project: Anti-corruption solidarity (Establishment of an anti-corruption co-working center).
