This 8-9 September, Prague, the Czech Republic, hosted the Concluding Meeting of the 30th OSCE Economic and Environmental Forum themed ‘Promoting security and stability in the OSCE area through sustainable economic recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic.’
The Meeting discussed the development of dialogue and cooperation among OSCE member states, sustainable economic recovery in the post-COVID period, as well as the policy of the Economic and Environmental Forum on the development of digital innovation and green energy.
Akbar Ergashev, Head of the Department for Ensuring the Openness of Activities of Government Agencies and Organizations of the Anti-Corruption Agency of the Republic of Uzbekistan, took part in the panel discussion on the theme ‘Effective measures to promote good governance and anti-corruption.’
The Agency official informed the Forum participants in detail about the large-scale reforms carried out at the level of state policy in Uzbekistan to combat corruption. In particular, he made focus on the work being done to ensure the openness and transparency of the activities of government agencies and organizations, to further increase the accountability of government authorities to society through the widespread use of digital and online technologies.
He noted that, in order to ensure the achievement of national goals and objectives in the field of sustainable development by 2030, the Environmental Protection Concept of the Republic of Uzbekistan was approved, which provides for an increase in the level of transparency of the activities of government agencies and organizations in the field of environmental protection, as well as strengthening the role of civil society.
Following the event, the Meeting participants defined the conceptual goals and objectives on a number of issues, including sustainable economic recovery, expanding dialogue and cooperation in the development of digital innovation and green energy, stimulating environmental and economic development in ensuring integrated security.
