A meeting took place September 16 at the Anti-Corruption Agency of Uzbekistan with Lisa A. Johnson, Deputy Assistant Secretary of the US Department of State, Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL). Umida Tukhtasheva, Deputy Director of the Agency met with the foreign guest.

During the meeting, the Agency specialists provided the guests with detailed information on the ongoing reforms in the field of combating corruption in Uzbekistan and the initiatives put forward by the Agency. In particular, an exchange of views took place on important regulatory legal acts adopted in the field of combating corruption, the activities of the National and Regional Anti-Corruption Councils, the openness of the activities of government agencies and organizations, the introduction of compliance control and rating assessment systems.
The parties also discussed further areas of bilateral cooperation, including the issues of improving the skills and potential of the Agency’s employees and civil servants, creating a Regional Anti-Corruption Hub, organizing special courses and trainings on combating corruption, providing ongoing expert assistance, and implementing joint actions and projects.
