The Anti-Corruption Agency, together with the State Customs Committee, has organized training seminars for customs officers in Ferghana, Andijan and Namangan regions and employees of regional customs posts.
This kind of events are held regularly in order to ensure the implementation of the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. DP-122 ‘On additional measures to further improve customs administration’, adopted this April 27. The Decree defines a number of priority goals and objectives aimed at transforming the customs system into a sphere free from corruption.
Based on this, Sardor Mamanov, officer of the Anti-Corruption Agency, provided the seminar participants with detailed information on the state policy in the field of combating corruption and its priorities, international experience in this area, and tasks for the future.
The seminars also discussed the factors causing corruption and negative situations in the activities of customs officers.
During the trainings, social surveys were conducted among the participants in order to assess trends in corruption risks and improve the moral and psychological climate among employees.
Following the event, proposals were made aimed at the prevention of corruption, the uncompromising fight against corruption in the customs authorities.
