On September 21, a meeting was held at the Anti-Corruption Agency with Lulua Asaad, UNODC Representative in Vienna, Coordinator of the Global Resource for Anti-Corruption Education and Youth Empowerment, GRACE.
For reference: In line with the Political Declaration of the UN General Assembly adopted at the Special Session on Anti-Corruption in June 2021, UNODC launched the Global Resource on Anti-Corruption Education and Youth Empowerment - GRACE.
GRACE promotes a holistic approach to empowering the next generation to act with integrity and be less tolerant of corruption and unethical practices.
During the meeting, the guests were provided with information on the work carried out in the field of combating corruption in Uzbekistan, including education, training, advanced training of teachers, processes of working with youth.
International expert Lulua Asaad stressed that the main objective of the GRACE is to create a culture of rejection of corruption among children and youth by harnessing the transformative power of education and partnerships. In addition, she reported on further plans within the framework of the initiative.
The participants of the meeting exchanged views on the prospects for introducing educational and practical seminars, as well as training programs in Uzbekistan, and the introduction of manuals created under the initiative.
In addition, emphasis was placed on cooperation in such areas as anti-corruption education of young people, university researchers and civil servants, the creation of programs to prevent corruption, and the implementation of joint research activities.
