On September 22, within the framework of the visit to Uzbekistan of the delegation of Japan, headed by Shintaro Naito, Director of the Department of International Cooperation of the Ministry of Justice, a meeting was held of Akmal Burkhanov, Director of the Anti-Corruption Agency of Uzbekistan, with the Japanese delegation.
The main purpose of the meeting was to familiarize the Japanese partners with the activities of the Agency, exchange views on the experience in the field, and discuss promising cooperation projects.
For reference: The meeting with the Minister of Justice of Japan took place this September as part of a visit to this country of a delegation of Uzbekistan headed by Akmal Burkhanov, Director of the Anti-Corruption Agency. During the meeting, an agreement was reached on conducting an anti-corruption expertise of draft regulatory legal acts and organizing a training seminar to improve the skills of the Agency’s employees.
The Agency Director informed the Japanese partners about the anti-corruption reforms carried out in Uzbekistan in recent years, as well as about the main tasks and functions of the Agency.
After that, the parties discussed issues on the further organization of internships in Japan and the organization of training seminars with the participation of Japanese specialists in order to improve the skills of the Agency’s employees, recommendations from Japanese experts on the Virtual Academy project, as well as cooperation in other areas.
