December 9 is the International Anti-Corruption Day. The Anti-Corruption Week is being held in Uzbekistan timed to this date, within the framework of which meetings, round tables, seminars and other events are organized in various government agencies, institutions, companies. One of them has been held at JSC Maxam-Chirchiq. The meeting, which gathered the executives and employees of the Company, discussed issues of corruption risks in the field and measures of preventing them.
Akmal Yunusov, the Anti-Corruption Agency officer, attending the meeting, presented detailed information on methods for identifying corruption risks, assessment procedures, criteria, frequency, corruption risk map, and measures to be implemented based on the results of the assessment.
He noted that the Resolution of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan RP-240 of May 11, 2022 ‘On measures to improve the mechanisms for eliminating corruption risks in the field of public administration and expanding public participation in this area’, provides for a mandatory corruption risk assessment in the activities of government authorities and administration, including their territorial divisions, state unitary enterprises and institutions, organizations with a state share of more than 50 percent from September 1, 2022.
During the meeting, the participants were introduced to the Methodology for Identifying and Assessing Corruption Risks, developed by the Agency in order to form a unified practice in the process of assessing corruption risks.
The obligations and responsibilities of government agencies and organizations in the effective implementation of this process were discussed as well.
