The Ministry of Public Education hosted December 5 the Doors Open Day as part of the Anti-Corruption Week, timed to the International Anti-Corruption Day - December 9. The event was organized jointly with the Anti-Corruption Agency.
Nodira Samandarova, the Anti-Corruption Agency officer, briefed the audience on the modern mechanisms of the anti-corruption system being introduced in Uzbekistan, in particular, about the importance of the activities of Internal Anti-Corruption Control Units (compliance control) at government agencies and organizations.
During the dialogue, employees of the Internal Anti-Corruption Control Unit of the Ministry and its regional divisions were informed about the work carried out on the basis of the compliance control system and their results.
This October, specialists of the Internal Audit Service and the Internal Anti-Corruption Control Unit of the Ministry of Public Education conducted studies in institutions and organizations subordinate to the Public Education Department of Boka District of Tashkent Region on compliance with the relevant legislation. The study results revealed that officials of the District Public Education Department made financial mistakes and shortages in the amount of 2 billion 351 million 580.5 thousand soums.
All study materials were submitted to law enforcement agencies for legal assessment and undertaking appropriate measures.
At the event, an exchange of views took place on the issues of identifying, eliminating and preventing corruption risks, financial errors and shortcomings, as well as strengthening the ongoing work in the system.
