Uzbekistan delegation, headed by the Director of the Anti-Corruption Agency, pays working visit to the United States. On December 7, members of the delegation visited the US Department of State, where they met with Richard Nephew, the US State Department’s Coordinator on Global Anti-Corruption.
Akmal Burkhanov, the Anti-Corruption Agency Director, informed the host party about the formation and implementation of the anti-corruption policy in Uzbekistan, the activities of the authorized bodies and the development strategy for the near future.
The meeting also discussed the development of cooperation between law enforcement agencies and the drug control department, the exchange of mutual experience, including the introduction of effective anti-corruption mechanisms in Uzbekistan.
In turn, Richard Nephew noted that he is aware of the positive transformations in Uzbekistan, in particular, the reforms being carried out in recent years to combat corruption. He agreed to enhance cooperation in this area.
On the first day of the visit, Uzbekistan delegation held a meeting with Raymond P. Duda, Assistant Director of International Operations Division at the US Federal Bureau of Investigation, at which they discussed the cooperation prospects.
