The Anti-Corruption Agency hosted December 14 a seminar for regional anti-corruption councils on improving the legal and institutional framework for regulating conflicts of interest in government agencies and organizations and their observance.
The seminar provided information on the concept of conflict of interest, its legal basis and the main elements of its detection and prevention.
For reference: A conflict of interest occurs when an entity or individual becomes unreliable because of a clash between personal (or self-serving) interests and professional duties or responsibilities.
During the seminar, an exchange of views took place with members of regional councils on measures to resolve conflicts of interest and the procedure for disclosing and considering information about it.
In turn, the members of the regional councils were provided with information on the measures to be taken to prevent conflicts of interest that may arise in the course of activities.
