The TRACE International has published its Bribery Risk Matrix Index 2022.
According to the index, Uzbekistan moved up to 131st place scoring 58 points. In 2021, the country ranked 147th with 59 as overall score.
For reference: The TRACE Matrix has been developed by TRACE International since 2014 and is released annually. The TRACE Matrix is a weighted score of risk that private companies can encounter in conducting their business activities in different countries.
According to this year’s data, North Korea, Turkmenistan, Equatorial Guinea, Syria and Venezuela present the highest commercial bribery risk, while Norway, New Zealand, Sweden, Switzerland and Denmark present the lowest.
It is worth noting that only two countries in the region reached positive changes, one of them is Uzbekistan.
