For to ensure the transparency of the system for providing subsidies to business entities in the sericulture industry, and to eliminate corruption factors identified in regulations related to the industry, on December 23, 2022, the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan adopted the Resolution ‘On amendments and additions to the Regulations on the procedure for reimbursing part of the costs to organizations engaged in sericulture and mulberry growing for the introduction of water-saving irrigation technologies in mulberry forests in connection with the improvement of the system for identifying and eliminating corruption factors in regulations’.
This Resolution introduces a number of changes to the current legislation aimed at eliminating corruption factors.
In particular:
It is forbidden to include in the composition of the working group persons who own shares or shares of stock in the authorized capital of sericulture and mulberry growing organizations, or who are members of the board and supervisory board, as well as their close relatives.
These changes will serve to reduce the human factor in the industry, as well as to eliminate corruption factors, including nepotism and favoritism.
